These frames are not what I would call "best in line"; I would rate them as average quality but they are really good for the price (about $3 each!). The plexiglass is covered with a protective plastic on both sides and there is a pull tab on either side to make removing the plastic easier. That's something I've never seen in frames in this price range. They also have very strong hangers built into the back that hang from a single nail (or screw). There are two different hanging mounts on the back, one for landscape use and one for portrait use. I used all 8" x 10" picture frames so I didn't need mats. However, they looked good. The back is held in place by these little metal tabs that you have to pull back to remove the back and glass, then slide in a photo and put everything back together, finally bending the tabs back into place to hold everything in place. together. It's not exactly a minus at this price point; actually I expected that. The most important thing to know about this type of clasp is that these little metal tabs have a limited number of flexes before they break, so this isn't a frame that I would recommend if you plan on changing photos in it. frequently.
