I ordered these as an affordable alternative to the breakout cleats I use. A boot is definitely preferable for weight shifting, but I was now being told to stay as far off my foot as possible and needed something that would work with my knee roller. The shoes are the same quality as other foot/post surgery shoes I've seen. I like that the Velcro can be removed and repositioned. The sole isn't as stiff as my boot and I would have liked more stiffness, but that's okay for the price (and considering I shouldn't be stepping on it anyway). The only criticism is the size chart. I am a woman who wears size 11 shoes. Sometimes I need broad and sometimes not. These shoes are too big and I should have chosen a medium one. The sizing seems very similar to my boot which is also a DJO product and my boot is medium sized. This shoe is large and fits like my husband's boot (essentially the same as mine) which is oversized. Having large feet I tend to expect things to be too small and usually go large when the question arises. In this case I had to go smaller with the adjustable straps to get more support. The size chart for women's shoes was the reason I didn't order large women's shoes (different list). In hindsight it would probably fit better than this. Probably not worth going back so I'll see if I can get it working. In any case, if my husband ever needs a shoe for fractures, these will fit him.
