Starter works great. the warranty is practically useless

First of all the starter itself was perfect. It comes with a test sheet showing all functions during dyno testing. I love that the company operates here in the US and not in a mass recovery of units from China or Mexico. no problem installing and it works like new. The disadvantage of ordering a starter from abroad is the warranty service. For a $97 starter, I'm not too concerned about that. The chances that you need a 1 year warranty are pretty slim. Even cheap ones usually last 12 months. However, if you had a fault within the first year, the company's warranty policy requires you to request a return authorization, ship the defective unit back to them, and they will repair or replace it. Who can really? Being without a car for 7 days while sending your starter back and forth? They really should change their warranty so you can pay for a new starter and get it in 2 days, then send your old one back to them and when they get it you get a refund. it would be a little more realistic. In the end I took the risk. If it fails during the warranty period I will replace it with a locally available unit. If this lasts 2 years or more I would consider ordering from DB Electrical again. The time will show.
