I have noticed a fungus on my toes which makes them very thick and sometimes causes them to grow in strange directions. I needed something more than these little nail clippers that open about a quarter of an inch. The clippers opened up nice and wide and could cut through those thick, fancy toenails. I've used a cutter on the worst and they worked fine too. A slight bend was no problem for me. There is also a tool with a sharpened edge for removing coarse dirt from under the nails or in cracks, referred to as a nail broach in the description. Both endings are identical which seemed like a waste of time. I mean they could make one a little bit spicier than the other to give you two choices. The only disappointment was the file. There is very little sand in it and I couldn't do much with it. Even a nail with a slightly rough edge was too big for a file. Maybe it's useful if you want to give your nails a really nice shine when the nail is already smooth, but it didn't help me much. Everything else did what I needed and helped me get a grip on those fungus nails, so four stars.
