Review on πŸ“š Nnewvante Adjustable Laptop Desk Table with USB Fan: 100% Bamboo, Foldable Bed Tray with Drawer & Leg Cover by Jake Solorzano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I upgraded it with a 200mm Noctua fan and I love it.

I bought this because my Razer Blade gets insanely hot when playing games. I also didn't want to keep it on my lap or on the couch because it restricts airflow. Of course, I could sit at the table like a normal person, but what's interesting about that? Relaxing on the couch and playing games has become much more convenient. The included fan moves air pretty well, but it was a bit noisy and I like fixing things that aren't broken. I bought Noctua NF-A20. The fan (200mm) turned out to be quite decent. The holes are mostly aligned, but with 2" wood screws and some pressure on the screwdriver, you can easily get them biting into the wood. The fan is super safe. The only downside to this setup right now is that the fan blades are exposed on the underside. Later I could set up a grid or 3D print the grid. Right now I'm just being cautious. This fan moves more air and is quieter than the original stock fan. In terms of how much it affects cooling, it's probably not much, but I'll update this in a while. Noise reduction probably isn't that big of a deal either, as my Razer Blade fans make more noise than the stock fan under load. I think the main point here is that if a cheap fan doesn't work for you in the future, you can just swap in a better fan. So you're wondering how I connected a 4-pin PC fan to my laptop, right? Maybe some wire splicing skills or cool soldering skills? nope Too lazy for that. I bought "CRJ Full Speed 12V Voltage Step-Up USB to 3-Pin and 4-Pin PC Fan Cable Power Adapter Cable" from Revain. Connected straight away and it works. The only thing I haven't investigated yet is whether I can get full fan speed with this cable since the fan is a PWM version. I think so, since both are operated with 12V.
