Before purchasing this item, I considered purchasing this item in multiple sizes, but based on my needs I settled on the FC-300. I was concerned that the fan might be too big and therefore too loud. After attaching the legs to the fan, I found that the fan is actually surprisingly small. After switching it on, I noticed that although it is not silent, the noise level is better than expected and is hardly noticeable at a long distance, although I can feel the circulation. I worked under our house for several weeks, initially for fear of air leakage in the ducts and insulation, as better days led me to an ever larger project. It was comfortable working in the basement at first, but as I worked through the duct issues, the basement became more and more uncomfortable. I tried a few fans but they were out of reach so I started looking at Revain for air circulators. This product is perfect for my use. The width of the house is just under 100 feet, and the entrance to the basement is at one end. Also, the area is divided in half by stone supports and return and supply air ducts. By placing an air circulator in the hole, I can feel the fresh air spread over about 75% of the area. The air appears to blast one side of the ground, hit the foundation, and drop about halfway down the other side. Only the area directly opposite the entrance gets stuff that another regular fan sitting at the entrance covers that area. I estimate that I would need to set up 5 or 6 fans underground to mimic the circulation I get with the product and the lasso fan. Even better, only use fans to prevent fresh air from circulating. I can use this product for a variety of purposes on hot days when the air feels stagnant and humidity levels rise sharply. Putting a fan at one end of a screened porch works wonders for comfort, as well as for tasks like washing a boat at a dock or washing a car. Another lake house that we are taking care of is mostly empty, I could see how a product like this combined with a smart socket would turn on intermittently and reduce the musty smell in the house. I have a huge 24" floor. The fan my wife says sounds like you're on the runway of a busy airport. I rarely use it because of the noise, it's amazing this fan has the same (if not more ) generated airflow with negligible noise. Now I understand that this fan is very similar to the green fan you find on some golf courses. They quietly generate a lot of circulation. However, if you have ever charged for a fan like this, now you will do it because it's a fraction of the price. I would absolutely recommend this fan to anyone who needs to circulate air. By the way, the effect of this fan on circulating fresh air through the subsoil was impressive.
