I received them for an upgrade from 2GB to 4GB RAM on my Acer Desktop (M460) with XP SP3, an older computer I use. The old RAM cards I had in my computer were also made by Kingston. I only have two slots and the cards have to match in pairs (1x1 or 2x2). After installing them on my motherboard, I turned the tower back on and booted the machine. The additional memory was automatically reflected (although this indicates that there is now 3.24GB RAM instead of almost 4GB. Not sure why there is a 3/4 gigabyte discrepancy. Previous 2GB RAM read cards 1.99 GB). I'll keep testing to see if the extra RAM actually improves performance. Tip for installing cards in slots: If the second card does not fit easily in the second slot, try replacing it with a different card. I think the memory cards can vary slightly in length, and the protrusions of the slots on the motherboard can have different distances from each other.
