Great idea and saves time/accuracy

I don't write many reviews unless the product is excellent (better or better than expected) or to save someone else the pain of finding a problem and regretting it . I admit I'm a bit of a precision perfectionist so I expected a lot from them. Great invention and they work exactly as intended/advertised. Highly recommend and worth the cost compared to other hanging devices. I used the original size. The "no dimensions" slogan isn't quite right - several celebrity hanging projects still require layout and spacing to keep your display consistent. To speed this up, I used a laser line (quicker and less messy than an 8ft chalk line) to determine the height and placed 5 frames on that line at 3" intervals. Ideal. Exactly what I needed and the entire project took 45 minutes (for 5 frames each 16.5 square inches including layout). The last set of frames I hung was a pair of 11 x 14 frames side by side using regular wire and hooks. It took over 2 hours plus swearing is frustrating to get accurate alignment; You have to endlessly mess around with setting up NSEW. Hive made my last project really enjoyable! A few notes (and my opinion): 1) I agree with the negative comments about not being able to see position labels. It takes very little effort to snap the markers into regular drywall. I've also tried this with wood - same thing - you can't miss markings on the underlying smooth surface. 2) Beehive: Great move to include a little hanger setting tool! Makes it easy to press in the hanger spikes exactly where they are needed at the right angle. For users: Just make sure you align the corner in the tool correctly to get the right angle (obviously) 3) Thinking long and hard about the geometry of the bracket spacing and the frame size can improve the placement accuracy of multiple frames. Hive promotional images show plates attached to the extreme corners of the frame. Installing pairs of brackets closer to the midframe allows for different height adjustments. In other words, a small height difference from mounting holes that are closer to the center will result in different adjustments at the edges of the frame at a greater distance (frame width) than the same adjustment movement when the brackets are extended outwards at the ends a longer span. (larger spacing for wider frames) 4) Just make sure the dimensions and installation of the brackets are the same for all the frames in the group for easier alignment when hanging. It doesn't matter for single images. 5) Full size kit mounting screws are small (good) but pilot holes still need to be drilled in the frames. This not only makes screwing easier, but also improves the accuracy of fit, prevents splitting of hardwood or the formation of a pile of holes under the screw head. hook wire. The hive is actually closer to the wall. Typically, the wire suspension allows the weight of the frame to pull the top of the frame farther than the distance added by the hive. This is true even if the wires are stretched at the top of the frame. With decently sized bumpers on the bottom corners of the frame, the Beehive actually looks great as the frame perimeter spacing is now the same AND smaller overall. While this may not be the case with sawtooth hangers - add the height of the hook and I'm willing to bet it's the same (the distance to the hive may look longer, but it isn't). Enjoy. I have done this and will continue to do so in future hanging projects.
