Don't buy this for a regular computer, better buy it for a Fire Stick. On a typical computer, this allows power to be supplied from any attached peripheral to the USB port on the PC/MAC/. However, this is intended for Fire Stick and similar applications. We need this behavior because we're connecting it to powering the firestick and then connecting power to the firesick to that device. Now that device is sending power to the Firestick through that USB. If it weren't so, we wouldn't have a powered firestick. Now connect your non-powered peripherals to the USB ports. If this was sold as a self powered USB hub for general purpose computers then be very careful as a float between your pc's 5v and this 5v could damage your pc. That said, don't buy it for this purpose. Given that this device is designed and marketed for Firestick style applications that require power to be delivered to a connected USB port in order to power the Firestick, I give it 5 stars.
