I was convinced for the first time that I would buy Gellack! While I liked the lack of chips etc from the gel polish, removing them was a challenge. Bought this scrub after reading the reviews. I agree it works, but it takes a lot of patience and multiple coats of remover. My gel polish did not "crack" as shown in the description, but it took many thick coats of remover and patience to let it dry before using the nail polish remover tools that came with it. A scraper was definitely needed to scrape off the remaining polish that didn't come off easily. I don't know how long it would take to take it off at a nail salon, but I'm wondering if that might be the best option. It took me about 2 days to remove the nail polish and treat my nails (2 hours each). This makes your nails look rough so you have to spend extra time smoothing/polishing your nails and treating them with nail oil to get them looking nice again. I doubt I'll go down the gel polish route again, but if I do I now have a remover (with more patience/time) to remove it if I don't want to do it professionally. Update: I don't know if it's a remover or gel polish but my nails have become so brittle that they crack and break easily. I still use a lot of cuticle oil to try to get them back to a healthy state before using gel polish and remover.
