Revainrating 5 out of 5

I bought my wife a laptop for school.

My wife isn't the biggest techie but she is back in school to graduate and when her old laptop died I gave her a nice thin 15 inch Dell laptop that weighs 3.5 pounds and one of the new amd 6-core mobile processors. she loved it. However, with her old laptop and this one, I watched her struggle to do research and switch from one program to another. It hurt me that back then I used two and three monitors to control my workflow. In the past, she has resisted me installing multiple monitors for her laptop, just her general aversion to technology. But with the new laptop, I really wanted to make her life easier if I could. So I bought this 15 inch portable LCD screen. She looks like a pill on steroids and easily fits in her school backpack next to her laptop. It's about 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick, including the lid, and with their 1 inch thick laptop, the two together are about 1.5 inches thick and weigh maybe 4.5 pounds. She found it confusing and wasn't sure how to deal with it, but because I made the effort to use her, she got back to me within a week and told me how much she loved it. She took it to school and attended Zoom classes there or at a Zoom cafe with one screen and shared her work on a second screen. A good quality USB-C cable provided power and video to the new screen. While you can use the included power cord for external power with an HDMI cable. Using a USB-C cable and a laptop battery consumes power and probably cuts battery life by a third. The fact that my non-tech wife now loves how much value it brings her means more than my techs enjoy. I really wish it had its own battery to extend the runtime when the laptop is running on battery power, but for less than half the price of devices with built-in batteries, it still works great.
