I bought this fancy collar and leash set because my pup broke the plastic buckle on the collar so it was time to replace it. I was looking for a stronger buckle so metal seems to be the answer. Although I doubt this metal buckle will break, a couple of times the collar came loose and fell off our dog. I'm not sure how the buckle opens, but a collar that doesn't stay on the dog is utterly useless. To be honest I was a bit sad because it was such a good collar! I like the leash a lot. In certain situations you want your dog to be close by without putting your hands on the leash. Then there are times when you want to give them more freedom. Personally, I don't like retractable leashes, so this leash does it all!
