Works well and as intended. Deburring aluminum. I just use it without a handle and find it ok. I would definitely recommend gloves if doing this and possibly eye protection. Aluminum shavings fall out. everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. Do it outside or over the trash etc. Or both. I researched some ways to clean them. It is best to use a piece of wood (usually in the form of a wedge/door stop) or also brass or copper. If you're using brass or copper, you'll need a flat end, like the side of a credit card. You take your chosen medium and slide it through the lines of the file, creating/cutting small micro "teeth" in your wood/copper. After a few passes, the teeth will push out any aluminum shavings stuck inside. That is beautiful. I believe that wood would be the least potentially dangerous.
