Not much ill will in there. Almost all you need is to mount a TO-220 or similar switching transistor or regulator on a heatsink and isolate them from a common ground. It would be nice if there was some silicone tubing in the box and if the screws were English threads (like 10/32) instead of metric to cut metric threads into the heatsink, this is doable but quite impractical in the US. (But the screws are easy to replace.)
