Review on Invoice Flattening Bookbinder Bookbinding Papermaking by Carla Anderson

Does the job but some details could be better

Pros: This press is quite heavy and has large rubber feet so you can rotate the handle while squeezing the paper without holding on to the base. I was positively impressed by how stable and heavy it is. Cons: The platen's top (moving) screw and guide pins are a bit loose, so you'll have to slow down and center the platen by hand just before it touches the top of the paper. Heap. If you remember this, you will always do your job. The position of the side panels is basically adjustable within 1 cm on each side, which would be very useful to hold letter-size paper better (in the standard configuration you have extra room for A4 paper as well), but unfortunately the guide pins for the top plate are too wide to allow for this adjustment. It's a shame - this could be a nice feature, but the design already has half of what it needs. But to be fair, the manufacturer did not initially promise such adjustability in its advertising. The back panel is attached by the user with two screws, which is not difficult. But these screws were simply thrown into a box along with an Allen key (which is useless because the screws are Philips heads). So if you didn't search the packaging carefully enough, you might suspect that the screws are missing. I ended up using my own metric screws, before I found the standard screws thrown into the bottom of the box. So generally a workable unit if you take the necessary steps to address some of its shortcomings. The manufacturer never promised such adjustability in its advertising. Works pretty well for me, no complaints really just have to hold it in place when tightening it up.
