I was looking for a sulfate-free, unscented shampoo and conditioner that would not irritate my scalp. And it would be nice if my hair grew longer and stopped breaking. I've tried it and my 50 year old hair and scalp seem to love it. I have fine hair and a very oily scalp that is very sensitive. The shampoo dries my hair but cleans my scalp unless I use very hot water and really try to use my fingers to clean/rinse the scalp. The conditioner is very moisturizing which helps to balance out the dryness of the hair shaft caused by the shampoo. My hair has grown several inches in 6 months of use. Of course, I also bought a scalp brush to spread the oil over my scalp before shampooing. I've stopped putting them in a wet towel, I've also stopped sleeping with them in my ponytail and started using a wet brush. and stop petting him every day. So shampoo and conditioner? I don't know but I love it so I will keep using it. I live in Southern California and we have hard water here so I use a shower filter too. I don't even know if it matters :)
