The Rarest of the Rare - A Real Deal

I decided I needed a table lamp with a wood and metal swing arm and started looking around. Obviously they are popular in Europe because everything I saw was sold from France, England or Denmark and cost more than 100 euros (not to mention 50 euros postage!). Imagine my delight when I discovered this article here on Revain! I can't imagine paying €110 plus shipping for a better lamp. This guy is very well made - no hint of a cheap copy of Scandinavian design - the paint is immaculate, the wooden parts are neatly sanded and finished, the milling work (the grooves where the power cord lies) is immaculate and the fabric covered cord is one nice touch (like standard wing nuts). As mentioned in other reviews, carefully check the order of items on the screws before removing them for assembly. There are two silicon washers that should run straight down each side of the piece of wood, acting as a kind of clutch. A spare silicone disc is also included, I think if one of these wears out or gets lost it's not a big problem to get some silicone material and cut some more if necessary. To be honest this piece is amazingly well made and wouldn't look out of place in the upscale contemporary Scandinavian setting. I mean I wouldn't complain if I paid $100. I am really excited. And a few more things: I can see that some people are concerned about how the power cable is routed. You can easily tuck it tight (although you'll need to be careful to leave enough slack to handle the lamp's angle adjustment) by threading the cord through the entry and exit points on each piece of wood. If you think the wattage means the bulb is underpowered, just buy an LED bulb. The 11W LED is equivalent to a 60W incandescent bulb, so bright enough! Also, the lampshade doesn't get very hot as the LED at the front of the glass doesn't generate much heat (the heatsink is at the end of the socket where it can exit directly through the slots in the top of the lampshade). . ).
