We recently bought a used 2013 Nissan Leaf. This is a short range electric car but we are both retired and only use the car locally or for trips into town (about 30 miles, round trip) for various shopping, activities and things to do. We can make two trips into town and then charge the car at home overnight. Although our Leaf charges at 3 or 6kW on 240 volts, I have calculated that the existing wiring in our garage (10-2nm wire, 120ft from the 240V/30A switch on the main panel) is only the lower speed can safely support 240V charging - that's why I bought this 16 amp EVSE. I installed a suitable NEMA 6-20 outlet with a 4 foot 10-2nm wire and 20 amp switch in the garage accessory panel. It took about an hour of work and $25 worth of new electronics. A Morec EVSE purchase price of less than $180 completed my low budget charging station. Nothing to report yet other than everything has been working beautifully for the past few days - exactly as intended and exactly the results expected. I will update and downgrade this review if we encounter any issues.
