The lid opens like a door! So great and beautiful!

I bought a total of 8 baskets perfect for a full bed. These baskets are wonderful. The best thing about this basket design was that one long side of the lid is attached to the basket so it opens like a door. You don't have to completely remove and put the cap back on every time you use it. I could use a deeper container like 8" to 10" but I'm not complaining. This one is 6.5 inches, which is deeper than any I've found in this type of wide, tall design. I first bought 4, tested the design, put them under my bed and today I am happily putting 4 more. :)
