I used this panel mount for a project to install a USB port on the overhead console to power the DVR. I'm tired of the cable hanging down. I also bought an adapter to connect to existing power lines in the ceiling panel - I believe those were for the compass. this outlet. The only difficulty I had was having to cut tiny slits in the sides of the hole to allow the ears to slide in the side of the pan. After that, I connected and plugged in a 1ft USB cable to the dash cam. Everything works great and looks clean. I would buy it again for this project. If I could change anything I would ask for a shorter cable and I really want one of these to be brown to match the headliner. Black stands out, but otherwise it's a clean install.
