I bought this humidifier because of the dry air in my one bedroom apartment. The static electricity was so strong that it threatened to damage the electronic components (computers and cell phones) that I normally work with on a regular basis. I've been using the device for 35 days, 24 hours a day without a break. I run it on low settings and only top it up once a day. I've been running tap water and went to have it cleaned a week ago and it really didn't need it. I really like the top filler. The only bad thing I can say is that the blue light under the tank is BRIGHT when I live in a one bedroom apartment it is in my bedroom when I am in the living room. Luckily I can turn off the light when I'm trying to sleep, but when I get up in the middle of the night I have a handy night light that can be a pro for an old man like me too.
