I bought two of these braces and I really like them. Unfortunately, as per the Athledicts listing, they were defective and I had to send them back. Athledict quickly contacted me and offered to replace the braces which I agreed to because these braces are phenomenal. My knees hurt all the time, and sometimes they can fail without warning. I have to concentrate when going down the stairs as this action really puts my knees to the test. Every step down hurts and my knee will most likely fail me. When I got these braces, everything changed. Now I don't run like a madman and fly up and down stairs, but my fear of my knees giving out is gone. I'm still careful going down stairs but with these braces it's a lot easier. Before, when I worked outside in the yard, my aching knees would hurt even more at the end of the day. Not so with these suspenders. I wear them when I run and do chores (weeding, mowing, planting - I'm retired) and when I eventually take off my braces - NO KNEE PAIN! My knees actually feel better than they did before I got the braces on. When I first started wearing braces, my legs started to hurt after a few hours. my fault They were too tight for me. It was a bit of a learning curve to get it right, but once I got it done I didn't have that problem anymore. Suspenders have four Velcro fasteners. Velcro top ends together as well as bottom ends. Then there is a long strap at the top and bottom that you wrap around the leg/brace and Velcro. You can increase or decrease the support depending on how tight you pull these long straps. All of this makes for a very secure fit. My braces have never come off my leg. The description states that the orthosis does not pinch the hollow of the knee. You don't lie. The back is open (as is the front at the kneecap) so nothing can get pinched. The metal hinges of this mount are designed to withstand heavy loads. I was concerned with how I felt they were putting pressure on my leg through the bandage and making it uncomfortable. Not this case. To prevent this, there are write-offs. I have never felt any discomfort from metal hinges. When I started wearing braces I felt like a six million dollar man. (An old TV show about the bionic man.) It was because of these strong joints on either side of my knees. I quickly got rid of the strange feeling and I like to wear braces. With the improvements Athledict have made to braces, I look forward to getting the most out of them. I have no problem wearing these suspenders under blue jeans. If your pants are tight, you may need to wear a bandage on the outside of your pants. Cool fashion statement. In short, you can't go wrong with this bandage.
