for my use was trick
I was about to return this lighter when I looked again and the spark was too far from the burner I was trying to light (propane stove with pilot off). ). I chose to push the end of the firing pin up to the burner, which was unnecessary on the old Coleman lighter I used for years due to lack of fuel, but the spark always ignited the burner. Coleman seems worn out so I tried this spark against the burner and it works great! If the tip of this lighter is placed directly on the burner where the gas comes from, it will work every time (as long as the gas is on). There are no instructions or adjustments to it.
