I bought this to have more USB 3.0 ports for my Oculus Rift and this PCIe card did not disappoint! Just install and download the driver, no problem. Each port has its own separate controller, so it doesn't use bandwidth across multiple ports. And that's the problem for a lot of people setting up their Oculus Rift, they might have enough 3.0 and 2.0 ports, but the ports use the same controller and there just isn't enough bandwidth. This product solves this problem quite simply. I'm using 3 sensors and a USB cable from the headset to this PCIe to 3.0 card and everything works great. This card does not have a connector for connecting to an internal power supply, but that is not a problem. Each port can source 2 amps of current and the sensors draw less than 1 amp (0.19 amps if I remember correctly). So yes, if you need more USB 3.0 ports to power your Oculus Rift, look no further.
