Review on Dell MDS14 Monitor Stand - Adjustable Height, 5TPP7, 1920X1200 by Chris Ceo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Robust and very adaptable monitor arm

Highly adaptable three-piece design: (1st) desk clamp base, (2nd) lower arm that rotates but has a fixed vertical angle, (3rd) upper arm that rotates and tilts up or down and attaches the monitor is attached Tilt/swivel/swivel mounting plate is attached. Watch the 3D animated video on the Dell product page to see how it all works. I needed a monitor wall mount with a reach of nearly 5 feet. So I bought that and just used the upper arm assembly. It attaches to the nearest arm via a simple cylindrical post. So I built a simple 4 foot single swing arm out of 1-5/8" 16 gauge steel tubing and machined (from a 2" acetal/delrin bar also purchased from amzn) a simple double cylinder post , which attaches to my long arm and to which the Dell's upper arm attaches. Together it all works way better than I could have done alone, and also way better than anything I could find.” "Store Bought" at any cost. The top half of the Dell MSA14 solved the tricky adjustable part of the problem very neatly. It supports the Dell U2715H monitor quite conveniently. Eventually I will make another Delrin cylinder mount and get another MSA14 and U2715H to have a long arm dual monitor setup.
