Review on Enhanced Performance with Polar Vantage M2: Integrated GPS, Wrist-Based Heart Monitor, Daily Workouts, Sleep and Recovery Tracking, Music Controls, Weather, Phone Notifications by Jay Kowal

The price is right, but poor software execution and useless build quality.

I'm a Fitbit user and the only reason I bought the watch is because it supports an external heart rate monitor. Fitbit does not support this feature. First review. May 05, 2021. Pros: Price. User interface is easy to learn but has few features. Light weight. Watch strap is very comfortable. Cons: Poor screen and good visibility. Build quality is okay. The watch looks very cheap. I think Garmin and Fitbit have the best build quality. Phone notifications are bad. Some apps like Telegram can't click to view. For example, the watch vibrates, but without notification (Telegram). Even if you receive multiple messages, you may ONLY see the last message. Scrolling through previous messages is not possible. Another really annoying quirk: why the extra steps to show notifications. You need to press the back button, scroll down to the notification and select an option to view. Receiving multiple email notifications works and you can scroll through them. The Polar Flow app is fine. I think this app is way behind Fitbit. The Fitbit app automatically syncs data from your watch as soon as you open it. I don't understand why you have to press the back button to sync data from the watch to the app. Synced data does not match the clock. For example, when I sync data, the burned calories have different values. The clock shows a higher value than the synced data in the app. I hope that the software issues will be fixed in future updates. More feedback like daily activity tracking and HR accuracy will follow later. Fitbit's daily activity tracking is really good, but HR Accuracy for strength training isn't. I recently used Polar Verity Sense for a few workouts and compared it to Fitbit. Fitbit always underestimates calorie consumption. much information. Cons Access to notifications still sucks. Polar needs to add a feature to access notifications of the currently used watch face instead of pressing the back button and scrolling through the notification to view it. Screen visibility is poor indoors, especially in low light conditions. Outdoor visibility is excellent. The alarm clock vibration is very weak.
