Unable to read in shade

I was hoping the other negative reviews weren't as bad as they sounded. So I bought this watch (Polar Vantage M2) with the idea of trying it out. I've been using a Polar M430 watch mounted on bike handlebars for many years and have never had a problem reading the watch regardless of the light conditions and with or without sunglasses. The only reason I tried the new watch was because the battery in the M430 was dead and I couldn't replace it (shame on you Polar). The best condition for reading the Vantage M2 is when the dial is exposed to sunlight, and that's when you're not wearing sunglasses. When the face is in shadow, with or without sunglasses, forget you can read it. In my opinion, Polar has taken a big step backwards with the display of this watch. What a pity that this product was allowed to be sold to the public. I have returned the watch.
