Review on ☕️ #6 Unbleached Coffee Filters - 100 Pack - Cone Shaped, All-Natural, Biodegradable, Compostable, Chlorine-Free by If You Care by Oscar Munoz

I wanted to please them.

If your brewer fully supports the filter, then this could be for you. However, if you expect your filter to be held together with a ground support (like Chemex or similar) then you may be disappointed. (Even with the folded edges I always do.) They have one seam compared to the Melitta which has two rows of seams. A single pressed seam can actually create continuous channels for small particles to pass through. Or, even worse, it can separate completely and you'll see the water and soil settle out in your pot. I've never had a Melitta failure like this before. I've tried it 3 times so far: the 1st got fines (not the end of the world), the 2nd got better and seems ok, and the 3rd time it completely banged. YMMV.UPDATE: The key to preventing the filter from splitting may lie in your folding technique. When folding, bend the bottom just above the seam first. Just use your finger to make a slight crease. Don't use your fingernail to make a sharp crease. This can cause the seam to come loose without your knowledge. (Maybe this happened on my third attempt above.) Then fold the rim on the side of the cone the same way. This should improve success.

Pros
  • Coffee filter
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
