Review on 🐶 Havahart Remote Training System by Cynthia Beauchene

There is some controversy surrounding the use of static correction in dog training. Static correction is a good way of saying "little electrocution". I'm not going to discuss this topic, but I want to say that there are times when other teaching methods may not work. In my personal opinion, I would rather try this method than give up a very lovingly rescued animal. The box contains a training collar, remote control, manual, training manual, batteries for collar and remote control, 2 pc probe sets (long and short) and a tester if you don't want to test yourself. Both the collar and the remote control are quite light but of good quality. The remote control can be used with two collars at the same time by simply pressing the button to switch from collar 1 to collar 2. Pressing the alert button (beep only) will display the letter "A” and also the collar. When using the correction button, the correction level is displayed, as well as which collar. If you use it with two collars, the remote will remember the correction level of each, so you don't have to keep adjusting them. Correction levels are changed with a quick button press. Since the behavior I'm trying to fix occurs in my home, I haven't had a chance to verify the range. The dog I work with does not bark well and other methods have not worked. Then I tried an automatic bark control collar which, instead of muffle his barking, turned him into a terrified, almost neurotic animal. This rather stubborn Aussie Kelpie needs something that will allow me to work directly with him so he can better understand why he is getting a fix. Log into the Havahart Remote Trainer. The Havahart trainer allows you to use two different correction modes: Warning (beep only) or Correction. When using the correction, there are 5 settings to choose from. Always use the lowest possible setting that works for your particular dog and use the probe length that best suits their coat. On my Kelpie I use setting 2 with short probes. Due to the probes, the static correction collar should not be left on the dog for more than 12 hours. I prefer to use it for a much shorter period of time. Since barking is a sporadic problem, it is difficult to get any real training. Real training would be helpful in learning how to sit, stand, heel, lie down etc. I use a training collar while waiting for him to bark around the house. As soon as he barks, I say "quietly" and hit the alert button. If it doesn't stop in that time, I'll talk softly again and use the fix button. As soon as he stops barking, I praise him and give him a treat. Although we have only recently used the training collar, it already responds to the alarm button. I love the Havahart system and believe barking problems will be a thing of the past with consistent training. Once the barking is under control, I will likely collar one or more of my other dogs that have some habits that the collar can correct, such as: B. ignoring my commands when off the leash. Please please don't do this. Use a static collar as a substitute for proper training. This is a tutorial, not a replacement. The more you work directly with your dog, the happier you both will be. Why only 4 stars and not 5? I think the collar should be designed to match the description in the manual, not reprint the manual. I think when using the correction it would be helpful if the collar emits a warning sound during the correction as suggested in the instructions. It is not. Thinking I had a defective unit, I sent Havahart back a couple of times before customer service was notified that there was a typographical error in the manual. Regardless, Havahart's customer service earns a 5-star rating for courtesy and prompt service. If only the collar would sound in combination with the correction I would give it a 5 star rating too.
