Ordered because it was cheaper than the RAM I used with it. Fits perfectly and holds up great. I use it to hold the handbrake switch on a driving simulator that I use in off-road racing. Although I've only used it a couple of times, I've had to detach and reattach the connectors for storage and use. Fits great and doesn't slip. No ball, no U-bolt. Looking for a cheap and compatible part to use with RAM mount hardware or just an alternative I can say this worked for my use case.
