I use an SSD as the primary OS drive. I wanted to use this WD Green as a secondary drive, but every time it wakes up from sleep, you can't do anything on your computer while it starts spinning. I understand it's just to save power, but it started spinning at odd times, e.g. B. when Windows is checking for updates. I got fed up with it and removed it from the system. I put it in a case and used it as an external drive and it works great. If it was just a delay reading the data on the disk I could deal with it. However, it is unacceptable to freeze the entire machine at an inconvenient time. You may be able to change the idle timer with a utility, but I'm not sure if that works for this model. If your use case is similar to mine, skip it and find another solution.
