I run a small software consulting/contracting business. I have 5 static IPs from a Comcast business account with an SMC cable modem set up in pass-through. For SMC I have 3 routers; 2 non-TRENDnet routers each managing one of the static IP addresses and TRENDnet router managing 2 WAN/static IP addresses. Internally, I connect all routers to a 192.168.xxx.xxx network with NAT. The LAN works with both wired and wireless devices. I have a total of 6 SSIDs (3 2.4GHz and 3 5GHz). Each SSID has a separate name, destination, and traffic. I manually configured the channel for each SSID. All 6 SSIDs work without interference. Enough backstory. I bought a TRENDnet AC3000 to replace a Netgear FVS318N that was struck by lightning. TRENDnet stands head and shoulders above the Netgear division. I have had no problems or problems connecting the TRENDnet device to my network. Setting up and programming TRENDnet was a lot easier than setting up any other router I've ever installed. I use running ports, VPN to route to my network. Everything worked on the first try. All of my business/software development traffic is now routed through TRENDnet. The 2.5GHz radio bands have excellent range and the 2.4GHz band outperforms all my other routers! 8 Gigabit LAN ports allow me to take full advantage of the Comcast Business Account speed. Personally, I do software development over a VPN connection every day and haven't seen any network outages. I haven't used their customer support yet. Programming was easy and straightforward. Management seemed a little relieved. I would highly recommend this router to anyone who needs all of its features and is too cheap to buy a Cisco! Great router for small businesses.
