Review on ๐Ÿงน Miele STB 101 Turbo Mini Handheld Brush by Bob Collins

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Stops at the slightest touch. Pretty expensive for what it does.

I have one of these portable turbo brushes with a portable canister vacuum and use it all the time. It is ideal for cleaning upholstery, car seats and trunks. However, the turbo brush I already had obviously didn't fit the Miehle hose and instead of using two vacuums at the same time, I gritted my teeth and bought this brush for convenience. Pros: 1. This is a rotating brush turbo brush that works on upholstery and gets into places where the main jet won't fit. It picks up the lint on the upholstery and sucks up dog hair and cookie crumbs and all that. It opens to clean the brush.3. The head turns slightly. Cons: Any vacuum accessory that costs $75 โ€” just like whole vacuums โ€” shouldn't have any downsides, right? But unfortunately it does.1. The big problem is that the brush stops at the slightest touch. My old one braked and stopped, but only with some pressure. Come on Miele! Anyone who cleans the house knows that the person using that brush has to go through some physical turns to get to everything, and it's no fun trying to keep your balance while applying light enough pressure all the time exercises to keep this brush going! We need to vacuum the sides, backs and tops of furniture, and we all know what it's like to vacuum in the car! Also, this pup is used at the end of a long hose and wand where we can't always feel the compressive force on the tool itself, and the brush is quiet enough not to notice when it stops spinning. (My old brush makes noises like a plane taking off so I know when it's stopping). This brush will be completely useless for my 6ft 210lb husband to vacuum cars because he will never squeeze it lightly enough while trying to crawl into the car. 2. My current turbo brush is powerful enough to pull out crumbs etc. from the contour line in the upholstery of furniture. It is not so. I expect to use the crevice tool in real crevices, but I've never had to use it for sewing upholstery outlines.3. $75 for this little brush is a bit of a mugging! My other - which actually works better - came with a vacuum that was 1/3 the price of my Miehle. I love my Miehle correction and it could have been worth a higher price but this brush is quite overpriced for what it does.
