The Samsung LC34H890WJNXZA (CH890) Ultra Wide Monitor performs well as a desktop monitor, providing additional screen real estate and allowing desktop elements to be scaled for better viewing. The monitor I purchased arrived well packaged from Revain and was not damaged in transit. It was easy to make connections for two different computers, although one had to be connected via DisplayPort and the other via HDMI. With the cables that came with it and the DP->HDMI adapter I already had, it wasn't a problem with a monitor that only had one connector of each type. I thought I could use the PBP/PIP features to display both inputs at the same time, but the reality of how this works and the placement of the PIP isn't flexible enough and therefore doesn't get 5 stars. As some other reviewers have noted, colors are a bit matte by default. Since I always calibrate my monitors with a Datacolor Spyder, this is an easy fix. Every monitor I've ever used has benefited from calibration, especially when you put different monitors side by side. After calibration, I'm very happy with the color accuracy, saturation level and overall image quality. The curvature of the display feels just right and is great for placement on the corner of a desk. Good adjustability and anti-glare surface make viewing comfortable. The joystick controls on this monitor are no better than any other monitor. It frees the front of the monitor from the buttons and works quite well. The included rear monitor cover can come in handy in situations where the back of the monitor is open, but proved too fiddly to attach when the monitor is closed. on the wall, so I put it aside.
