I bought these 2 sets of recovery tools as a gift for my daughter who is a novice driver. I spent hours researching various emergency roadside assistance kits. All with a different number of items it will contain. I have chosen to purchase this item separately from the kit. My reasoning is #1 in a real emergency, the reason is that her emergency kit (with the escape tool) is stored in the trunk of her car and is not accessible to her in the driver's seat. #2 Other escape tools I looked up online were more than this item and I honestly couldn't imagine my daughter holding it at arm's length. This escape tool has both a glass breaker and a seat belt knife. I have the sense to know that if my daughter needs to use it it will be attached to her key in the ignition and carabiner. Fast, easy, cheap.
