Review on 🔒 NETGEAR ProSAFE FVS318N Wireless-N VPN Firewall: 8-Port Solution with SSL and IPSec VPN (FVS318N-100NAS) by Joseph Stone

I have been a fan of Netgear products for many years. Haven't had any problems so far. My previous ProSafe VPN firewall fell victim to the rapid pace of technology, requiring it to be replaced as the main router connecting to the ISP. Still strong but too old. Found this and ordered hoping for the same quality as mine. Physically very well built and strong. Almost does not heat up after several hours of operation. Plugged in, set up for basic work and was very happy with the results. Very fast compared to my old one. After about 15-20 minutes of continuous use, it froze. You can still ping it, but neither the routing functions nor the web interface responded. Only responds to the ping command. We think it's a coincidence. NO! I've restarted countless times (at least 15 times) and only worked 15-20 minutes each time. I successfully updated the firmware and thought I fixed it. NO! The same problem followed. After about 5 hours, when I really gave it every chance and script to make it work or let it run, blocking it still didn't work. I sent it back to Revain and they credited my account in less than 24 hours of receipt. FIVE STAR AMAZON for excellent service. I have just ordered a ZyXEL USG20W and GS-1900-8 to replace this failed purchase. I'm sure they will work as intended; definitely better than what this device has done for me and most others.
