About 20 pounds out of the box, appears to be well made. The first application was on the styrofoam packing material that lay on my tile and laminate floor. With static in the foam, the vacuum didn't lift them off the floor. With the "Multi-Floor Brush Roll" on or off, it didn't pick up any material on laminate or tile. I had to find an old hard floor nozzle and use this sweeper as a 20 lb upright vacuum. The same applies to popcorn seeds, cereal, pet food, etc. The multi-floor brush rotates and the dirt is scattered over the entire surface. Roll back and it won't rise unless you're using a bare floor nozzle on a stick. Which brings me to the telescopic rod. The locking mechanism does not engage, so the wand gets shorter and shorter as you sweep. I thought a rotary dust removal tool would be great for blinds, air vents, and ceiling fans, but then again, a cheap plastic locking mechanism is useless. It spins and moves all the time as you try to use it. IT WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE FOR USE ON BLINDS EVEN. I thought I was doing something wrong so I used it for a couple of weeks. I've changed settings, cleaned filters and even read some of the instructions but it's still useless. If you want to buy a vacuum cleaner attachment and a hard floor attachment, you will end up with a large and unwieldy cylinder vacuum cleaner. He goes to the garage for a car wash because he seems to have a good suction hose. Too bad I didn't send it back the day it was opened.
