This is fine if you want to immobilize the thumb bone or LOWER thumb joint, but not so good if you want to immobilize the smaller, upper joint. Or maybe it's just me because my thumb is longer than most people's. For me, the top Velcro wraps around the knuckle of the top thumb. Ideally I want it to wrap around my thumbnail to immobilize my upper joint (that's where my canine pet tore it and overstretched the tendons). It's lightweight, very well made, easy to put on and take off, and very comfortable. I wore it over 10 hours a day.
