Seachem claims that the clarity will provide results within hours, but this always depends on your individual circumstances. I'm sure it won't last a whole day or more; However, I have found that the first time I use my 55G upgrade it takes 6-8 hours to see results. 2 weeks later, during the second phase of the same reconstruction, it took less than 3 hours to get the final results. You must have very good mechanical filtration to do justice to the use of this ideal product or you will waste all your time. All Clarity does is collect all the small particles in your tank into larger masses that interfere with your coat's filter media. Note that because of the transparency, your mechanical filter will turn rusty brown. This is not a negative issue. Just a side effect. Therefore, do not change the filter if it is still new. Don't rely too much on Seachem Clarity. as a means of masking poor filtration. The best use of Clarity I've found is after a major overhaul in an old tank or during a temporary bacterial/algal bloom. Don't blame clarity on prolonged/constant cloudiness, cheap filtration or lazy fishkeeping. This product has been used successfully by amateurs of all levels and I see no reason to unnecessarily slander it for the sake of stupid users.
