Out of the box defect

Received the monitor on time. Pulled out and installed the monitor I was replacing. When trying to install the display port cable that came with the kit, it was too short for where I placed the monitor. Instead, I took the one that ran one of my other monitors and used that instead of the cable that came with that monitor. When plugged in, there was no signal on the monitor. I've tried a different port on my graphics card but still no luck. I took the cable I used previously (Displayport to HDMI) and installed it on the new monitor using HDMI1. The monitor now recognized a signal, but only worked with 1920x1080 instead of the expected 3840x2160. Windows didn't even give me a chance to bring it up. I used the Nvidia control panel to create a custom resolution and was able to set it to 2560x1440 but still not full 4k. Unhappy with that, I emailed Scepter and went to bed. When I went downstairs in the morning I found that the monitor had horizontal stripes in the lower quarter of the screen. At this point I have just created a return and ordered a different brand as a replacement. All of this happened between Monday and Tuesday morning. I'm writing this review on Friday evening and I still haven't received a response from Sceptre.

Pros
  • Superb 4K picture: With four times the pixel count (8 million) of FHD resolution, 4K (3840 x 2160) offers an extraordinary landscape with color variations, contrast and clarity that reflect the real world. Mounting Type: Wall Mount
Cons
  • The monitor takes too long to turn on.
