Review on Belkin AC1600 Dual Band Gigabit F9K1119 by William Santos

Belkin used to be a great router. My old one lasted 10 years. Now they are nothing but complete garbage. I've tried two in the last three weeks, N600 and N1600 and encountered the same problem. During the install you need to update the firmware which messed up both. I called Belkin support and they told me I need to update from a laptop, even though the box says it's easy to install with a smartphone. I told the person how to connect my laptop to the internet without an internet connection. The instructions contain only pictures and nowhere does it say that you need to install the firmware from the laptop. Ease of installation is a complete lie. Support tried to blame Revain for the problem but I said no because I bought the first one from Wal-Mart, it's your defective product because this has happened to me TWICE with Belkin routers. Don't waste your time and money with this junk and buy another router like NetGear or some other reputable brand. I will never buy Belkin again. Installation should be, unpack the router, connect, enter the password and boom, you are connected. That's how the old ones worked, and it was very simple. Now they've made it harder, and it's ridiculous.
