Review on πŸ”‡ PAC SNI-1 Noise Isolator: The Perfect Solution for Noise Reduction – 1 Count by Dhoal Black

I had a very strong howl that I could not isolate in any way

I had a very strong howl that I could not isolate at all. I tried moving the ground on my amp, the auxiliary ground on the main unit, and every other trick I could find to try and get rid of the hum. In the end I couldn't take it anymore and bought these sound isolators. I was concerned about the sound quality as I know plugging anything in can affect the signal quality and ultimately the sound quality. I installed them straight from the main unit (I used two, for the front and rear outputs to my amp) and the hiss was gone immediately. I didn't have to use a third on the subwoofer output as the hiss was very high frequency and the crossover on the amp eliminated it. I've done my best to make comparisons with isolators installed and then removed with the engine off (so there was no filter noise) and it was very hard to tell a difference. I didn't use any tools, just my ears, so take that with a grain of salt. I could detect a slight drop in volume, but this was easily overcome by increasing the signal level. When making comparisons on the aux I could tell that the very low level seemed to drop off with the isolator, but in the end I didn't have to use it on the aux as there was no noise to be heard. Overall I am very impressed with what they were able to do for me after months of trying to get rid of my engine.
