I didn't know that this lamp was adjustable in two rounds (tighten and loosen with a nut). The head that houses the light is adjustable without a nut. Information may be included in the description; but I didn't read the description. Such adjustments are not a problem - just a warning to my fellow users. I like 2 things about this lamp. 1. The lamp head does not shine through like plastic or a lampshade. The lamp is on the table next to my husband's chair. I can just turn it on and get the amount of light I want by simply adjusting the lamp head. If I want some light but don't want it hitting my eyes, I can adjust it accordingly. Without a transparent shadow, the light would never reach my eyeballs. Desirable light is not in the eyes.2. The lamp has a USB connection. Now I can plug my phone into the lamp and charge my phone instead of this wire going there and this wire going there. My man's chair sits about 6 feet from the living room wall where there is no outlet access other than an extension cord. I can sit in my chair while my phone is plugged into my lamp and continue to use my phone while it charges (instead of plugging the cord into an extension cord, making the phone cord too short to hold my phone). Even though my 11 year old son tried to steal my new lamp, I put pressure on my foot while unpacking it from the shipping box. This lamp is mine. He made me promise to buy the same lamp. Of course I told him to talk to his mother about it. The crisis will not only be averted, it will be averted.
