Difficult installation and limited range

I wanted to like this mirror but I couldn't. The size is good for my 22ft wakeboard boat, but the mounting and reach were a hindrance. The clip mount is universal and has rubber grommets to fit different windows. My window frames are 3/4" thick and I could barely mount this thing with the thinnest of washers. The screw threads protrude into the bracket so it scratched the top of my window frame when I installed it. I didn't really like it either. I could do not remove the transom without an Allen key although it is foldable. I am very mechanically tilted and have had many problems with this on my boat. Secondly, the range of this transom was very limited. it seemed difficult to move. I assumed that it eventually breaks. It really only moves side to side and you have to loosen the thumbscrew to move it up and down more than a tiny amount. The large 7 x 14 CIPA mirror has a large mounting bracket with thumbscrew so you can easily turn it on and off.It also has a better ball mount on the back so you can track it down can adjust at will. Although this mirror is bigger than I wanted, it has a much better design, so I'm sticking with it.
