I bought these socks for my daughter because I've always liked socks with pleats and frills. They have ruffles, don't need to be pleated. Genius. My daughter wears them every day and I've bought another set for the upcoming school year. One note, the ruffle on one of the socks was a little torn after a few socks. I only cut off part and she's still wearing them so the ruffles may tear over time, but I think that will happen with all ruffle socks. I will keep buying as long as they sell out otherwise my daughter will be too old to wear them.
