It's best to keep it simple. on Clothing & Storage

Forget all those broomsticks with retractable sliders and grapple balls. This simple and basic shelf works well, easily built into any wall, and holds everything I need in my pantry. 16 inches from screw to screw, 3 inches between hooks, and everything seems to hang stably with no problems broom over broom (simply because brooms and mops tend to be different lengths). Well, one of my broomsticks didn't have a hole, so I drilled a hole and threaded a rope through it. There is nothing about this stand to break or fall out, the gray plastic coated wire looks neat and tidy.
