Installation was extremely easy with the additional purchase of a packaging kit that included a squeegee (but I've seen a credit card work just as well) and cutting tools. The pattern offers more privacy but still lets in plenty of light. Our front door is French door style and our cat destroyed our blinds which used to be the only thing that gave us privacy. As I rent, the best solution was to use a chain that can be easily removed when moving house. I haven't tried removing them (nor do I want to) but I think removing the glass will be very easy.
