The best monitor in the $200 price range. If you're looking at this monitor, you're probably as confused as I am about whether the extra $200 justifies the price tag of a 4k monitor. In this case I don't think so. Monitor colors are excellent, much better than my old Dell monitor. This S series monitor features HDR that brings out the colors. Actually better than some 4K monitors that don't have HDR. If you're about a foot away from the monitor you can see the pixel fuss, and most other 4K monitors are much better. However, most 4k monitors cost around $200 more. If you can afford it, buy a Dell 4k with HDR with a near borderless U2718Q "U” series screen. When I first plugged in my monitor, some applications looked blurry even though they were set to the recommended settings. After playing around with the settings a bit and "clear type" it got better, but still a bit off. After a few reboots everything became very sharp and clear. So don't give up right away, this monitor can be a great monitor. Also, I'm not a fan of the matte screen because I want all the detail and sharpness. The screen coverage falls somewhere between glossy and matte. When I took it out of the box it looked like it was semi-matte, but the content on the screen was very sharp and clear. When it's off, you can find that it has some anti-reflective properties. It seems Dell has achieved the perfect anti-glare screen coating and a clear picture even in a sunny room. Finally, the sound is excellent, better than my Bose Bluetooth speaker at lower volumes but gets a bit raspy at higher volumes. this price range (like AOC, Accer, Samsung all have their disadvantages etc.)
