EDIT: They deliver a new

EDIT: The supplier contacted me to discuss issues and found that what I received was faulty. Another is on the way. Although I had no luck with the first device I received, I have no complaints about the customer service. Original post: I didn't have high hopes, so I wasn't too disappointed when it didn't work out. I was about to install it on a boat and figured it would be best to try first. I walked to a certain depth in a crystal clear lake and it seemed close enough, 22 feet in about 20. I went ahead and threw it overboard again, — — — — for the depth. Tried all the different sensitivity settings, tried the transducer at different depths (maybe it vibrated off the side of the boat? Still - - -. Off/On trick ol, it displayed briefly then went back to - - - No that Boat didn't move In short, many different tests at different depths, different transducer depths, different sensitivity settings, I can get it to give me depth about 10% of the time if I keep turning it on and off until I get numbers instead - - - but who knows if that's true... Generally for the money I would pick up a few cases of beer to take on a fishing trip.

Pros

Very portable, you can take it anywhere: it comes with a collar so you can wear it around your neck when you are busy kayaking. And you can easily store your fish finder in your tackle box. The siren runs on 4 AAA batteries. With new batteries, it lasts 4-5 hours of continuous use. It can be used in both fresh water and salt/sea water.
