Review on Moen 145058 Replacement Converts Standard by Eric Fuego

The quality of the device is high. Very durable. I really liked what was available. I bought the new Moen block on purpose, hoping to avoid the complications of installing the old Moen mixed block. Surprisingly the new Moen unit didn't fit and I was about to try making my own adapter as replacing the faucet unit behind the existing shower screen would be very expensive. Found out by accident that Moen made an adapter. As I began installing the new block, I found that a corner of the existing mix block needed to be sanded down to get the screw location required for the new cap clean. It's all brass and the only difficulty was that there was very little room to move the file. One way or another I fiddled with the file for about ten minutes, everything came out. There was nothing Moen could do about the adapter to make it work better. The difference in design that Moen incorporated into the new covers poses an issue. So overall quite happy with the device but disgusted by Moen for such a stupid and unnecessary change. The old design, with screws running parallel to the floor, is aesthetically preferable to the new sloping position.
